One-Day Symposium on NEP

To facilitate awareness and effective implementation of National Education Policy (NEP), the Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE), Gokulam 3rd Stage, Mysuru, had organised a "One-day Symposium on National Education Policy 2020 on September 27. The inauguration was at the Sports Complex, VVCE campus. The symposium was inaugurated by Prof Karisiddappa, Vice-Chancellor, VTU, Belagavi in the presence of Suttur Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji and Sri Someshwaranatha Swamiji, Sri Adichunchanagiri Shakha Math, Mysuru. Chamaraja Constituency MLA L Nagendra was the guest of honour.

The dignitaries inaugurated the newly built Sports Complex and Hostel block' situated in the premises of VVCE. The book authored by Gundappa Gowda on "Nammuru, Namma Hemme Kumbarakoppal" was released on the occasion.

As part of the symposium, a panel discussion on "Effective Implementation of NEP 2020 for autonomous and non-autonomous institutions featuring stakeholders from the education and policy ecosystem was held in the afternoon session. The discussion helped to identify key challenges, issues and concerns by bringing them to reality. Also, the panel probed the ground realities in the current Indian education system and the implications of the proposed policy, Prof Karisiddappa, Vice Chancellor, VTU, Belagavi, University of Mysore Vice Chancellor Prof G Hemanth Kumar, Prof K Bhyrappa, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Adichunchanagiri University, Bellur, Mandya district., Prof Vidyashankar S. Vice-Chancellor KSOU, Mysuru, Prof TV Kattiman Vice-Chancellor, Central Tribal University, Andhra Pradesh, Prof S N Hegde former Vice Chancellor, University of Mysore and Prof Lingaraj Gandhi Vice Chancellor, Bangalore City University, Bengaluru, were the eminent speakers for the panel discussion.

Webinar on 'A Beginner's Guide to Study Abroad'

Department of Electronics and Communication conducted a webinar on “A Beginner's Guide to Study Abroad” on 3rd September 2021. In this talk, Sanjeev Bharadwaj share his views on Study in Abroad and emphasized the importance of choosing a university, costs, required documents and exams. He also talked about student life, jobs, and salaries. The students found the lecture extremely informative. The response from the participants was good and has given positive feedback about the webinar.

Internship on 'Fundamental Design Engineering'

An internship from September 1st 2021 to September 17th 2021 was conducted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering in an attempt to address the industrial requirements for design engineer profile and also to imbibe the design thinking process for students. The internship was concluded by a valedictory ceremony in the presence of the principal of the college and HOD of the Department of Mechanical Engineering on 17th September 2021 at 11 am.

Industry visit

Industry visit to M/s. Eta Aerospace and M/s. Rangsons Aerospace for the students of Vymanika club and ISHRAE Students Chapter, Department of Mechanical Engineering which were scheduled on 25th September 2021.

Two Weeks Internship on 3D Printing

Department of Mechanical Engineering Mysuru has successfully conducted Two Weeks Internship on 3D Printing at VVCE-ME Skill Development Center (VSDC) starting from 15th September 2021 to 30th September 2021. Around 27 students from the mechanical engineering department attended this internship program. In this internship, students were exposed to Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) 3D printing technology. Dr Nithyananda B S and Prof. Rakshith Gowda D S were the resource persons.

Skill Development Programme

To enhance the skills of students and to make them industry fit, VVCE-ME Skill Development Center (VSDC) in association with Rachana Ener Care organized a skill development programme on “Practical Approach towards energy efficiency in HVACR-Demonstration of Handheld Instruments on October 1st 2021.

Workshop on Mobile Application Development

The Department of Information Science & Engineering conducted a workshop on “Mobile Application Development” sponsored by KSHEC, Govt of India from 20/09/2021 to 21/09/2021. The objective of the workshop was to enable the participants to build their mobile applications to solve societal problems and apply the learned technologies in building their mobile applications. The Resource person for the workshop was Mr.Shailesh Shetty, Mr. Vishwas, Mr. Thoueef Ahamed from Thaniya Technologies, Mangalore. Prof. Vijay C P, Prof. Yashpal Gupta S, Prof. Kasturi Rangan R, Prof. Sneha Shetty R and Prof. N. Nithaksha were the event coordinators.

FDP on “Cloud Computing using AWS”

"Five Day of Faculty Development Program was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering on “Cloud Computing using AWS” from 28 to September 2021 to 01 st October 2021, to inspire the faculties about the secret of Cloud Computing. Prof. Sathya Praveen D, HOD – Centre for Technical Skills and Entrepreneurship, CSMSS Chh Shahu College of Engineering, Aurangabad, Maharashtra and Mr. Kishore D R, Senior Software Engineer, Clarion Technologies Private Ltd., Bengaluru were resource persons."

Workshop on "Ability Enhancement Programme"

Department of Computer Science and Engineering of VVCE, Mysuru has organized “Ability Enhancement Programme” on four domains namely-Web Technology, ML using Python, IoT and its Applications and Mobile Development Application, for students of various departments of VVCE from 1st of September 2021 to 30th of September 2021. Students of various semesters of VVCE has participated in the event, helped students in solving problems and enhanced technical skills.

Dr. Gururaj H L was invited as a resource person for STTP, Signal Processing and Its Applications Using Machine Learning on 16/09/2021 and 17/09/2021 at University BDT College of Engineering, Davanagere.

Dr. Naveen Ankegowda, Dr. Nithyananda B S and Dr. Arun C Dixit were felicitated for getting a PhD degree on September 15, 2021, on account of Teacher’s cum Engineer’s day. Also, Dr. G V Naveen Prakash, Professor & Head of Mechanical Engineering was felicitated for successfully guiding two PhD research scholars.

Prof. Naveen Kumar MR of Information Science & Engineering Department has been selected for Advanced admission to QIP PhD in NIT, Karnataka Surathkal.

Dr. Ramakrishna Hegde, from the CSE department, was nominated as a member of, International scientific Committee for the 5th International Conference on Applied Mathematics, Modelling and Simulation(AMS2022), Shangai, China.

Dr. A B Rajendra, Professor & Head, Dept. of ISE was the guest speaker for AICTE sponsored 1-week Short Term Training Programme (STTP) on “ Signal processing & its applications using Machine Learning” at UBDTCE, Davangere.

Prof. R Kasturi Rangan, Dept. of ISE had been invited as a resource person for the Student development program held at MIT, Mysuru on 24/09/2021.
